No, not phpbb 2 or 3 or anything, but like 'forumcircle', 'profusehost', bizhat, versions that come premade.

I do not have the expertise to make a database. So I used premade forumcircle. I wish I hadn't invested in it. Almost zero features for the admin.

I was wondering if someone could please give me a list of all premade versions of phpbb, and tell me the features that the admin gets. I would like it if I get a forum that has a backup database button, other features in configuration, and allows me to add my own HTML tags.

Do not get forumcircle. It is easy to get a forum using it, but it has zero features. It won't even let me add my own tags.

I will AIM towards something that gives me as many features as the homemade versions.
Someone help.

Thankyou.

I suggest not to use forum hosting and install phpbb yourself. Then you'll have full control over everything and can add mods/styles as you want.

Hi Retromaster,
if you have some basics knowledge in PHP and HTML I do agree with CyberAlien in installing phpBB and modding it on your own to suit your needs.

On the other side... if you don't feel so confident with PHP and needs not only a forum, I would suggest to use a premodded, but pay attention that more features usually requires more charge on your server, and may not be always up to date with security fixes and so on. Of course I'm talking about open source projects. You should also consider that most of the premodded doesn't have many good free templates.

Anyway, here are some good names listed randomly (I won't provide links, because I don't want to spam forums with links... and I don't know if this is allowed though):

IntegraMOD
Orion
phpBB Plus
Quezza
CH (Category Hierarchy)
Icy Phoenix

Almost all of these have a portal which you can customize adding some contents. You can use Google to find them... I'm sure you will find something. ;)
